It is the aim of Campbell Montessori School to provide and maintain an environment that promotes not only excellence in academics, but also excellence in the social skills necessary for a successful life. Our programs provide a continuum of learning from 15 months – 12 years, preparing graduates with the confidence in their ability to continue learning throughout their lives.

What is Montessori?

Many Montessori materials are meant to be used by more than one age. This binomial cube is an example.

  •     Ungraded three-year age span
  •     Teacher is observer/guide
  •     Child chooses learning activity
  •     Satisfaction derived from learning
  •     Students quiet out of respect
  •     Environment provides discipline
  •     Children help one another

Toddler Program (15–30 months) offers an especially prepared environment to nurture the physical, psychological and developmental needs of the young child.
Primary Program (2-1/2 - 6 years) covers four fundamental areas; practical life, sensorial experiences, language and mathematics.
Elementary Program (6-12 years) integrates reading, writing and mathematics with science, geography and history. Art, music, physical education and Spanish add further opportunities for in-depth learning.

Our History

Campbell Montessori School was founded in June 1989 to bring Montessori education to the St. Charles area.

Opening as St. Charles Montessori Academy under the sponsorship of Greater Missouri Builders, Inc., the school was housed in a new two-classroom building at 1250 Hawks Nest Drive in St. Charles. In the fall of 1992, parents asked about the possibility of having an elementary school.
