Sandy Johnson Hershey Executive Director: Sandy Johnson Hershey

Sandy’s undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Education with a major emphasis in English and a 7-12 teaching certificate. After one year teaching English at McCluer High School, she made the decision to pursue alternative educational methods. With the birth of her daughter in 1971, she became interested in child development and secured a Montessori Primary Diploma, which she earned from the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis in 1976. She continued her Montessori training at the Washington Montessori Institute, where she received the Elementary Montessori Diploma in 1978. After an extensive career in Montessori, she joined Campbell’s faculty as the Elementary Directress in 2000. After working as Director of Development since 2006, Sandy took the Director position in August of 2014. She has spearheaded the opening of Campbell's newest program, Campbell Montessori Adult Community.

Julie VetterSchool Operations and Business Manager: Julie Vetter

Julie and her two children have been at Campbell since 2005. As the Business Manager she handles all the financial matters of the school, works with vendors and oversees the daily operations of the school. Her favorite part of the job is helping with communication of information between office staff, teachers, and parents. Prior to 2005, she worked for 15 years at Edward Jones in Facilities Management.

Toddler Program


Assistants to Infancy: Yuhong Skelton

Yuhong Skelton is our toddler teacher candidate.  Yuhong is originally from Shanghai, where she taught English for sixteen years before coming to the United States. She is currently in the second year of summer training, and will graduate at the end of August 2017.

Assistants to Infancy: Bailie Grosch

Bailie Grosch is our second  toddler teacher candidate.  Bailie has been working in the early childhood education field for several years, and came to Campbell after directing a day care center. She is currently in the second year of summer training, and will graduate at the end of August 2017.

Primary Faculty

 


Tamara Jordan

Primary Directress: Tamara Jordan

Ms. Jordan has taught a Primary Montessori Class for 29 years, and has enjoyed teaching at Campbell for the past 19. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from Stephens College, and received her A.M.I. Diploma from the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis. In the summer of 2008, she attended an extensive workshop focusing on the Primary Montessori Music Curriculum in New York. Her interests include nature study, music, art, sports, child development, reading, and spending time with her family.

Primary Directress: Najia Safdar

Najia discovered Montessori through her children. She has  been a parent at Campbell for e years and worked as an assistant before completing her Montessori Teacher Training. She holds a Diploma from The Montessori Training Center of St. Louis for Primary Age 2.5 thru 6 plus.

Elementary Faculty


 

Elementary Directress: Christina Carroll

Ms. Carroll holds a B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University. She Joined Teach for America and spent two years at Todd County Middle School in Mission, South Dakota. She taught briefly in Canterbury and London, England. When she returned, she found a position assisting in a Montessori primary class. She quickly grew to love the Montessori philosophy, and applied to the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee, where she completed A.M.I. elementary Montessori training in summer of 2010. She joined the CMS staff in 2008-2009 as an elementary assistant, and currently directs the 6-12 Elementary Class.
