Executive Director: Paul Gutting
Paul Gutting worked as an assistant at Campbell Montessori School from 1992-1997. After receiving a degree in Theatre and English from Truman State University in 1999, he interned with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. He then moved to Boulder, CO and joined the Denver Civic Theatre as company actor and dramaturg while working as a paraeducator at Kohl Elementary in the Boulder Valley School District and as theatre specialist/director, lower elementary assistant, and summer camp director at Mountain Shadows Montessori School. He returned to St. Louis in 2002 to complete his MA in Theatre at Washington University, and joined the faculty at The Fulton School at St. Albans in 2005 as English/Practical Life teacher, independent study supervisor, and standardized test coordinator. While there he served as the Dean of Academic Affairs, Chair of the Curriculum and Daily Life Committee, and Faculty Representative to the board. Director of Development: Sandy Johnson Hershey
Sandy’s undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Education with a major emphasis in English and a 7-12 teaching certificate. After one year teaching English at McCluer High School, she made the decision to pursue alternative educational methods. With the birth of her daughter in 1971, she became interested in child development and pursued a Montessori Primary Diploma, which she earned from the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis in 1976. She continued her Montessori training at the Washington Montessori Institute, where she received the Elementary Montessori Diploma in 1978. After an extensive career in Montessori, she joined Campbell’s faculty as the Elementary Directress in 2000, and has been working as Director of Development since 2006. Sandy handles the fundraising aspects of the school, and is in charge of communications. email
Business Manager: Julie Vetter
Julie and her two children have been at Campbell since 2005. As the Business Manager she handles all the financial matters of the school, works with vendors and oversees the daily operations of the school. Her favorite part of the job is helping with communication of information between office staff, teachers, and parents. Prior to 2005, she worked for 15 years at Edward Jones in Facilities Management. email
